Rotary Airlock Valve

We manufacture and supply rotary air lock systems from Anand for applications where controlled discharge and air sealing are required at the same time. In many setups, material handling works fine until airflow starts getting disturbed. Once pressure balance is affected, the full system performance drops. Rotary air lock plays a small role in size, but a big role in keeping the process stable.

These units are commonly used below cyclones, hoppers, dust collectors, and pneumatic conveying systems where continuous material discharge is required without allowing air leakage. If sealing is not proper, either air enters the system or escapes, both creating operational issues. We focus on maintaining tight clearance between rotor and housing so leakage stays under control.

Our rotary air lock systems are built to handle different types of material including powder, granules, and light bulk solids. Each material behaves differently. Some flow easily, while others create bridging or packing. We adjust rotor design, pocket size, and rotation speed based on this. Using a standard rotor for all applications often creates choking or uneven discharge, so we avoid that approach.

It’s also worth noting that excessive tight clearance can create friction, while too much gap leads to leakage. We keep this balance carefully during machining and assembly. Proper shaft alignment and bearing support are maintained so rotation stays smooth over long working hours.

Then there’s the matter of wear. In dusty or abrasive environments, internal parts start wearing over time. We select suitable material for rotor and housing depending on application. For some uses, cast iron works well, while in others, different material may be required. The idea is to maintain performance without frequent breakdown.

Drive selection is also kept practical. Overspeeding the unit may increase discharge rate for a short time but reduces life. We keep rotation speed in a controlled range so both discharge and sealing remain consistent. This helps in stable operation of the complete system.

Maintenance access is considered during design. Rotary air locks are usually installed in tight positions under equipment. If access is difficult, even small servicing becomes a task. We keep assembly simple so inspection and part replacement can be done without delay.

Our manufacturing process includes machining, fitting, and stage-wise checking. We don’t depend only on final testing. Each component is checked during production so fitting issues are avoided at site. This helps in smoother installation and reliable operation.
